This week has been crazy! I've had several assignments due, World Sight Day, and of course recovering from my weekend in Dallas. Here are a few things that have gotten me through this week, and a few things that I have fallen in love with recently.
1. Gray Owl Coffee Shop Norman, OK
Ok I love caffeine. It really doesn't make me feel more alert or awake in any way, shape, or form, but it I like to pretend it does. The atmosphere is calm and laid back, but still focused enough for me to churn out some study time. I feel like the shop is an eclectic home for art, mismatched chairs, and soothing neutral colors. In the mornings, the atmosphere is still very chill, but the music is brighter, there's lots of talking, and you can tell the baristas are genuinely happy to be up making espresso. The evenings turn the store in to a small spots of light tucked in to study corners, creating an environment of quiet and slight mystery. The vanilla lattes are heaven and their scones are perfect brain foods!
2. Big Chill: Purified Water with Electrolytes Added for Taste
Look I know it's dumb to buy water when I have a water bottle and such, but this one has electrolytes in it! I also like knowing that I've had at least one full liter of water a day, along with the liter of Pedialyte that I drink. It's hydrating, it tastes fine, and I just feel fancy holding it. Don't judge me
3. Sore Throat Spray
My tonsils are literally touching each other as I type this. At this time, I believe it's a sign that my body is incredibly angry at me and is worn out. I already knew that, but I think it's my body's final warning sign telling me I need to chill out. This throat spray only works for about 20 minutes which isn't great, but that's long enough for me to eat or brush me teeth. It doesn't exactly taste the best, but it works and that's all I care about.
4. Lush Sexy Peel Soap Bar
The name is weird, I get it, but my best friend gave it to me and I absolutely love it! It smells like champagne, oranges and just yummy all around. It makes me feel refreshed and clean without drying out my skin. After hopping out of the shower I feel a little rejuvenated with a small rush of energy, this soap definitely helps with that.
5. Beauty Counter Purifying Charcoal Face Mask for Target
Wow. My mom sent me a buzzfeed article with a review of this new line for target and this was one of the favorite items, so I decided to test it out. Not only did I look like a scary swamp monster to freak my sisters out, it can be used as a nightly spot treatment! It didn't make my sensitive skin red or itchy, I didn't break out, and the see didn't make me nauseous, so I consider this a win!
